Anusaya Mahila Swayamsevi Sanstha enhances menstrual health and hygiene practices in Maharashtra by ensuring the affordability and accessibility of biodegradable sanitary napkins throughout the State. The core focus is on establishing a low cost biodegradable sanitary napkin enterprise model, generating employment opportunities, and prioritizing environmental welfare. The initiative also introduces the “Pad Bank” under the innovative “Save a Rupee, Save Menstrual Health” concept, aimed at transforming India into a “Cancer free” nation. Through these strategic measures, the project seeks to empower women, promote menstrual well-being, and contribute to a sustainable and healthier environment.
Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) in India has been a critical and evolving issue, encompassing various cultural, social and economic factors. Women’s health and hygiene have emerged as crucial global concerns over the years. However, in rural areas, awareness about menstrual hygiene and the use of sanitary napkins remains scarce. Inadequate menstrual hygiene practices can lead to various health issues, including fungal infection recurrent reproductive tract infections (RTIs), cervical cancer and increased vulnerability to infertility

Our Mission

Our mission to end period Poverty, normalize menstruation and promote menstrual literacy by addressing gaps and challenges of MHM for the last women by engaging comprehensively with all key to stakeholder. We work with women in rural communities to confront menstrual stigmatization. We strongly believe in breaking the silence around menstruation and are providing affordable, accessible biodegradable, ecofriendly plastic free sanitary pad to menstruate, struggling to manage their periods safely. Motivating girls and women from rural community to use sanitary pads for their wisdom.
